To be able to fully appreciate what follows, I recommend that you watch Crime Reporter on Zee News at 11 PM. It’s the best example of how painfully funny crime reporting can get.
Manu convinced me into watching this show, which he has watched off and on for almost three years.
While reporting rapes, thefts and murders, the show’s anchor Raghavendra puts in so much drama and emotion while presenting, that one can’t help but laugh even as he unravels heinous crimes one by one.
To use an analogy, the anchor’s on-camera movements are sudden and forced, quite like to those of a jackhammer, who shakes violently between commercial breaks. His dialog delivery is also something to hear and not read about. Eventually, the viewer is stranded far away from the premise.
Crime Reporter reminds me of a plot from an episode of Jaspal Bhatti’s TV series Flop Show. The central character, decides to direct a TV series with the genre horror. Driven by this desire he goes overboard to the extent that after going on-air, the serial draws much acclaim from audiences, not for scaring them, but for making them laugh till their stomachs ached.
No doubt, the news reported in Crime Reporter is heart wrenching, but the production team, add unnecessary background scores and emotion packed scripts read out by Raghavendra, whom you could easily mistake for the victim. But his punch line, “Chain se sona hai to jaag jao” takes the cake and would make even Subhash Chandra Bose (known for his revolutionary speeches) blush.
But why single out Zee? Other shows such as Aaj Tak’s Jurm, Star News ‘Sansani, and India TV’s ACP Arjun of similar genre are no less hilarious.
Crime can never stop, but these shows must, or at least get their act together. If not, then viewers like me will continue to laugh and blog about them. Of course, guilt for not empathizing with the crime-stricken victims would be aqually apparent.

Tina, more than the channel, such disgraceful content only indicates how poor judges of content we Indians are. To us what matters more is how many rapes, murders, theft etc. are reported than the manner in which they were reported.
Actually, even if both the content and presentation are high, it doesn’t make a diff to us. We’ll swallow what they throw at us and move on to the other story. How else does one explain the lack of public and government action at the countless sting operations we’ve witnessed.

Sir, I am giving you a information about a Pvt. Ltd. Company who are cheating the financiers & Bankers for a long time. The name is Ghosh Surveyors & Valuers Pvt. Ltd. They are having their branches at Kolkata, Durgapur, Burdwan, Siliguri, Baharampur, Kharagpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, & Jamshedpur. Kolkata is their Head office. The company is mainly doing Valuation & Survey of different Financiers and Banking Institution. The Proprietor of the company is Debabrata Ghosh who is a Chartered Engineer, MIE & FIV. But the main obstruction of that company is that except Mr. Ghosh 98% of their employee is either 10 passed or 12 passed or hardly a graduate. And 2% of the employees is having automobile & civil diploma to face the various financial corporation. But for doing the Valuation & Survey everyone should be either a automobile or a civil engineer. But the proprietor is so intellectual that he trained his employees and placed them in front of the bankers and financial institution as civil, mechanical & automobile engineers. He is earning lakhs and lakhs of rupees per month through this people. But the candidates who have passed automobile and civil engineering degree are not getting jobs in this company because the owner have to pay according to their qualification. But why should he pay if the jobs are performed by a 10 passed candidate. If the employer employed a automobile or a civil engineer then he have to pay a minimum of Rs.5000-Rs.10,000/- per month. But the same work is performed by paying Rs.1,500-Rs.3,000/- per month. So, isn’t a very profitable business?
Now I am telling you something about the company. The company is doing the valuation of ICICI Bank, TATA Motors Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., SREI Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., LIC Housing Finance Ltd., Birla Home Finance, State Bank of India, Burdwan Central Co-Operative Bank., Centurian Bank Ltd., Ing Vaisya Bank, and many others banks and financial institution. They are doing the valuation and survey of these banks. All the branches of Ghosh Surveyors & Valuers Pvt. Ltd. which I have named you earlier are either empanelled with the banks in the name of Debabrata Ghosh or Ghosh Surveyors & Valuers Pvt. Ltd.. But he neither visits any survey nor does he do any of the valuation given by the banks. But the signatures in all the reports are in the name of Debabrata Ghosh. How is this possible? He made a signature stamp and gave to all the branches. The survey was made by the employee and they prepare the report according to the format given by the financier and financial institution and submit them to the concerned authorities. Some reports are also signed by the Branch In-charge in the name of D.Ghosh. Against each report they get Rs.500-Rs.1200 according to the distances. Except the head office each branch submits 10-15 reports per day. The main branch does 75-100 reports per day. Now you calculate how much money he is earning per month through these 10-12 passed candidates.
Now I am telling you something about how the valuation and survey is done. Suppose a DSA’s or DMA’s or brokers or the bankers or the financial institution calls for a valuation of a vehicle or a property valuation. The persons took the digital camera from the office and make the survey. He took the photograph and chassis impression of the vehicle and collects the Registration Book’s photocopy and the valuation fees and returns to the office and prepares the report and makes a signature in the name of D.Ghosh and submits the report. He doesn’t know anything about the vehicle & about how the valuation is made but he make the report according to the format. All the branches at the same time are submitting their reports in the name of D.Ghosh.
In this way Mr.Ghosh is cheating all the financiers and banking institution and earning lakhs & lakhs of rupees. The qualified people who are eligible for the job are not getting jobs in these concerns. Not only this, the concern is also cheating the Income Tax Department also. The Company only pays a very few amount of tax to the government because most of the jobs which they perform are on cash basis. They don’t maintain any proper copy of the cash receipts of the valuation & survey fees. The company pays tax only on that amount which they got through auto credit and cheque from various financial institution and banks.
Can you tell me why we should suffer after having Automobiles & Engineering Degree? Not only me many people are not getting jobs in this country because of this kind of some cheating companies. You can ask me how I have got all these information? I have submitted my resume to Ghosh Surveyors & Valuers Pvt. Ltd and they called me for a interview. After the interview they told me that they do not want any automobile engineer because the same job can be done by a ten or twelve passed candidate. After that I determined that I should flash all the hidden truth about how the company is running. I gather all the information about the company by visiting all the branches. I am telling you all this not only for myself but for all the people who are qualified and unemployed still now because of this type of some cheating companies.

Some more information about the companies staff. Mr Jayanta Ghosh being a graduate seems to be also an Engineer. But thanks to god that he is only a 12 passed candidate. He worked here only for show off because a concern must have a civil diploma for doing the land & building valuation. I Balkar Singh S/o Harnam singh Ex.Sarpanch Village Katora Tehsil and District Ferozepur Punjab wants to bring in to your kind notice about a heinous crime committed by Harjeet Singh S/O Bagicha Singh R/O Village katora Tehsil and Distict Ferozepur. The said Harjeet Singh has brutally killed his two infants female girls few days back and some persons of the village have been sheltering him for his crime. The ill fated girls has taken birth about 5-6 days back but Harjeet Singh killed both of them and buried their dead bodies to some secrete place. The said person has put a slur upon the humanity by doing this crime. That when the local police has got the wind of that crime said Harjeet Singh somehow convenience them by taking false oaths as he is man of means. I being a aware and responsible person of locality, understood my moral responsibility and I filed an application before S.S.P. Ferozepur for taking stern action against the culprits. Dear Sir,
I am a property dealer in Bhubneswar, Orissa. Normally I use to post my property in different property portals such as magicbricks.com, 99acres.com etc. I got a mail from one of the magicbricks member (Mr. Fenades Louis from UK) who wishes to make an investment of arround 20 million US Dollar in India in the real estate business. In the mean time our correspondence went on and he agreed to visit india to form a new real estate company and for which he send me the draft of agreement, his passport copy and passport copy of two other directors to be included in the company. Every thing went fine and in the last movement he expressed his inability to come to India due to some other commitment and he agreed to send 1 million US Dollar for registration and other miscellaneous expenditure. When I asked him to transfer money to my account, he said that he has already sent the fund in shape of currency notes through US embassy diplomatic courier and asked me to contact one mr Bobby Mike from US embassy for collection of the consignment and make payment of around 2400 GBP to US embassy. When I approached Mr. Bobby in India he asked me to deposit the amount in one Sanjay Sharmas account where I cast a doubt and I refuse to deposit…… (Mails and scan copy of the documents he send is available with me)…. This had happened in the month of Nov 2008… Recently, I came to know that the same gentleman is playing such foul game and I again contacted him through my friend’s email id and correspondence is going on and this time he is going to send a consignment containing 1.2 Million US dollar through the same gentleman (Mr. Bobby Mike)…our correspondence is going on and I know definitely he is going to ask me to deposit the amount for handling charges and then everybody will disappear from the scene..

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am Atul Tyagi from 671, IInd Floor, Nitti Khand- I, Indrapuram, Ghaziabad. Last saturday Me, my wife, my mom and dad left home 12:30 noon on Saturday and returned in 4 hours at about 05:00 PM.
By the mean time someone broke the main door lock and robbed my home (for about 20 minutes).
Rs 8+ lakh jewelery, laptop, imported watches, handy cam, digital camera, and other valuable items missing.
I live in a gated community and guard sits under a tree just adjacent to my home.
I am now busy with police for last couple of days but no positive result yet even after 3-4 days of this incident.
I need your kind support in this case. Kindly guide me what to do now as I have no idea where to go? As local police is not supporting us. I have shown doubts on some suspicious people but action was taken yet.
I have seen unusual behavior change in the activities of the people on whom I had doubts. But no one is listening
Moreover the GUARD have been freed who ws sitting outside my house at the time of incident.
I am not getting where this case is going and where police is taking this case.
No one has approached us yet. I am going to Vasundhra police station on daily basis but no progrees has been seen yet.
The security agency owner threatened me on the saturday itself just after the robbery that he will not let this guard in the custody for more than 24 hours. And he was proved right. Means he was aware of the working procedure of the police. What he has done I have no idea but he has taken his guard out of custody.
Anyways now I will try take this complaint to higher authorities.
